​Getting to Cartagena

The Rafael Núñez International Airport is located in Cartagena’s urban area, only ten minutes from its historic district, and only fifteen minutes from its hotel area. The airport receives approximately 266 direct domestic flights per week.

13 airlines operate out of Rafael Núñez Airport.  Rafael Núñez Airport airport offers nonstop flights to 9 cities. Every week, at least 406 domestic flights and 70 international flights depart from Rafael Núñez​ Airport.

Cartagena is 1000 ​km north of Bogota (about one hour by air).  There are many connecting flights from Bogota to Cartagena.

Weather

The weather in Cartagena in September is characterized by essentially constant daily high temperatures of around 31°C throughout the month, exceeding 33°C or dropping below 29°C only one day in ten.​

The official language of the Congress is English. Sessions will also take place in Spanish and Portuguese. All abstract submissions should be in English. 

​Visa

Some participants may require a visa in order to enter Colombia. Please check with your local consulate if a visa is required and about the specific visa regulations and application procedures that may apply to you. Official letters of invitation designed to help overcome administrative difficulties in certain countries will be sent on request. It must be understood that such letters do not represent a commitment on the part of the Organizing Committee or Congress to provide any financial assistance. For an invitation letter, please send your request via the Contact Us page​ on this website. Please make sure to send us your full name (as printed in your passport), full postal address and passport number. An official invitation letter will be created and sent to you by e-mail within 5-7 working days.​


​Liability and Insurance

The Congress Secretariat and Organizers cannot accept liability for personal accidents or loss of or damage to private property of participants, either during or indirectly arising from the 41st World Small Animal Veterinary Association Congress. Participants are advised to take out their own personal health and travel insurance for their trip.

Guest Attendance Policy 

All event activities (including educational sessions, meal functions, exhibition hall, etc.) are exclusively reserved for registered attendees. Non-registered guests (including children, family members, colleagues, etc.) are not allowed in any of the event areas. Badges provided​ at registration are required for entrance into all functions and will be strictly enforced.
